So I’ve set myself a goal for this 30 day period to practice gratitude every day. Some days it works a treat and the occasional day it doesn’t seem to work at all. It takes effort to create a new daily habit, but it’s worth trying right now. I believe what they say is true happens, it does actually give you a lift and refocus your mind into a happier space.
Finding three things each day to be thankful for is pretty easy. It can be anything like breathing in clean fresh air, having crunchy apples in the fruit bowl or just plain getting along with your partner at this time.
Yesterday one of my things to be thankful for was extra time. Extra time to talk to friends, play with the 7 year-old and also, relax. Let’s face it we all get so caught up in being busy with work and other commitments that we rush through life, stretched for time. We don’t stop.
Suddenly we are now forced to stop.
Choosing to find some goodness each day is like medicine for my mind. It just feels good. I’ll keep it up for my well-being’s sake and crack on with a smile. Well, at least for today.
